After careful consideration, the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) has today announced the appointment of NW Group as the venue’s in-house audio-visual and production supplier.
NZICC will be Aoteroa’s largest convention centre located in the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, with flexible and configurable spaces presenting opportunities for a wide range of events, with capacity for 4,000 people, a 2,850 tiered theatre, divisible and multipurpose Halls of 6700sqm and 33 meeting rooms for breakout spaces or smaller intimate events.
To date, the NZICC has secured 17 international conferences and continues to grow the pipeline of international and domestic events ahead of the expected 2025 opening.
While the NZICC will work with a range of audio-visual suppliers, NW Group will be the supplier trusted to manage the centre's in-house audio-visual equipment. This ongoing partnership will ensure the NZICC is able to deliver outstanding experiential and technical production to meet a wide variety of client audio-visual and production needs.
NZICC General Manager, Prue Daly says, “This is the first major supplier to join the NZICC whanau, and we are looking forward to partnering with a company which shares many of the same values”.
NW Group was selected as part of a formal tender process with their expertise, partnership approach and sustainability programme ultimately securing them the exclusive multi-year contract.
With two brands, Oceania and Spyglass operating in New Zealand, and Haycom and Norwest operating in AUS, NW Group has a diverse portfolio of expertise that appealed to the NZICC Team.
“Having NW Group working alongside our NZICC Sales team is going to ensure a customer-centric focus for our clients, and the ability to provide them with the best of the best and out-of-the-box venue and AV solutions for their events" says Alana Bicknell, NZICC Director of Sales.
NW Group General Manager NZ, James Mackenzie agrees, “Right from our initial interactions, it was clear there would be a high level of collaboration between our teams”
“We couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities this will bring to NW Group, and the events industry as a whole”.
