NZICC's Atrium Entrance

Ariki Hall

Ariki Hall - Spaces at NZICC

Straight off the atrium at street level sits our exhibition space, Ariki Hall. At its full footprint, Ariki Hall is approximately the size of the rugby field at Eden Park. And just like that hallowed ground, it’s a place where epic events take place.

Ideal for exhibitions and trade shows, Ariki Hall can accommodate 4,500 attendees and up to 400 booths. These can be modular, bringing a sense of structure to the floor plan or each unique in size and style.

Packing in and out of Ariki Hall is made easy thanks to the impressive sliding truck door that opens straight onto Hobson Street, as well as two nine-tonne truck lifts that allow vehicles to travel straight up from the loading dock and onto the exhibition floor.

Ariki Hall can also become the ideal space for a large gala dinner, with room for 3,300 guests to gather, dine and celebrate. By day, light floods in from the floor-to-ceiling windows that run along the east and west sides of the building. At night it glows from inside, while the city traffic whizzes by.

The space is also a shapeshifter. Tucked out of sight is an elaborate system of movable walls that can be pulled out and locked into place, dividing Ariki Hall into 16 possible configurations. This includes turning the full space into three smaller halls and creating adjoining meeting rooms so you can host different sessions at the same time.

High above the hall sits a sophisticated truss system, purpose built to support lighting, sound and visual rigs. This makes it easy to dazzle guests with impressive displays and create an event that feels uniquely yours.

Te Wharau

Te Wharau NZICC

Alongside Ariki Hall on Level 3, Te Wharau is a gallery space has that rare quality of feeling both intimate and generous at once. Expansive windows ensure warm, natural light fills the atrium, and high ceilings create an elevated environment.

Purposefully set apart from the bustle of the wider venue, Te Wharau has its own dedicated entrance off Wellesley Street, offering arriving guests a sense of occasion before they have even stepped inside.

At 556m², Te Wharau comfortably holds 230 people for a seated banquet or 445 for cocktails. It’s the ideal spot for an awards ceremony, a product launch or a networking event that needs to feel inviting but exclusive.

Te Paepae Theatre

There’s nothing like the thrill of attending a live gig, and Te Paepae Theatre takes it to another level. As New Zealand’s largest seated theatre, with full-size capacity for 2,852, state-of-the-art technology, incredible acoustics and excellent views from every spot, it offers all the ingredients for the ultimate audience experience. Already it’s played host to beloved local and international bands, world-renowned speakers, and captivating cultural performances.

For organisers planning conferences in Auckland, Te Paepae Theatre offers a world-class plenary space capable of delivering unforgettable keynote sessions, opening ceremonies and conference presentations.

Te Paepae Theatre

If you want all the benefits but for smaller numbers, Te Paepae can be divided in half, becoming two separate sound-proofed theatres each able to seat 1,235 people.

And while the seating capacity is a highlight of this space, the chairs are designed to be retractable. folding way completely, leaving a flat floor space ready for anything from a banquet to a dance floor.  This flat floor configuration holds 1,150 dinner guests at full size and 400 at half size.

Want to bring something special to the stage? The nine-tonne truck lifts also open onto the theatre so you can drive in whatever equipment you need.

Te Waha

Te Waha Space

Just outside Te Paepae Theatre on Level 5 sits Te Waha, an open-plan event space that stands out for its sweeping views of Tāmaki Makaura Auckland’s Waitematā Harbour. Here local and international guests get to see the city at its shining best, captured through windows adorned with the colourful glass panes created by artist Sara Hughes. This stunning backdrop sparkles throughout the day and is second to none at sunset.

Inside Te Waha, soft carpeting underfoot and warm, elegant lighting create an atmosphere of refinement, while the 12-metre LED screen at the entrance means organisers can set the tone with their own message and branding.

Te Waha is a space for occasions that call for something more – premium receptions, gala dinners, milestone celebrations and launches will all be made memorable here.
